Easily type in your Regional language

At times people find it difficult to read Tamil (or other regional) fonts in the internet and also to type a mail/blog or a piece of text in their regional language.

No need to install any regional font in their system.

Google offers an extensive and fantastic tool for reading/writing in their regional language.

Follow this easiest method to achieve it.
  • Goto http://www.google.com/ime/transliteration/, select the language you want to type or read, choose your operating system type (32-bit/64-bit; generally it will be 32-bit only). Then click on the "Download Google IME" button.
  • Install the downloaded setup file.
  • Once installed, you will get to see a Language toolbar in your windows Taskbar (near to the clock area). By default it will show "EN". On clicking on it, you can see your regional language being listed there (e.g., "TA" for Tamil). Click on it to change to your regional language.
You will notice kind of image in the right bottom corner of the screen.
  • Viola!!! Now where ever you type, it will be in your regional language only.
  • Once you are done typing in your regional language, click on the "EN" again to bring back to English.
  • But, you would notice that clicking on each time between English and your language would be more tedious. There, the windows shortcut comes handy... Press Left "ALT" + Left "SHIFT" to toggle between the languages.
Google Transliteration IME is currently available for 22 different languages - Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi (Persian), Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Serbian, Sinhalese, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya and Urdu.

Enjoy typing in your Regional languages...
